Bungalow Private Residence
GLENCOE, ILLINOIS / 2018-PresentA modest bungalow in Chicago, this client was looking to refresh their yard with permeable hardscape and planting that was different from a typical residential design. In the front and rear yard, the existing concrete was removed and replaced with antique Chicago clay pavers, providing movement throughout the space and a sense unique Chicagoan history. Secondary paths lead to custom cypress raised plants for easy-reach access for flower cutting. A mix of native and non-native plants were added to the yard, including new trees to frame the home and provide sentimental spring blooms for the client. With three dogs, the species selected were non-toxic to pets and the site was regraded for water drainage and avoidance of muddy paws.
