Mettawa Residence

Mettawa, Illinois / 2016-2019

This client sought significant updates to an old farm pond that is a focal point from the house. Degraded shoreline conditions and weedy vegetation and context were to be restored and an entertainment deck and adjacent waterfall feature added. A new bridge crossing improved access and site circulation. The shoreline was re-graded and cloaked in native vegetation appropriate for the shoreline conditions. Significant new natural habitat was created that supports this client’s bee hives and honey production as well as providing site beautification. We assisted this client with design, permit matters and construction coordination, as well as providing long term stewardship guidance.
